Painted Skin
During the period of the Qin and Han Dynasty, a general (Chen Kun) helps a beautiful lady (Zhou Xun) after a hard-fought battle against bandits, and brings her home. The beautiful lady is actually a thousand-year ghost. Putting on her face a skin on which she paints a face of a beautiful lady, she keeps eating human hearts in order to maintain her human face. The ghost is fascinated by the general, and craves for his love. The general’s virtuous wife (Zhao Wei) desperately tries to take back her husband. She eventually notices that the ghost is a nonhuman, and seeks help from a chivalrous man (Donnie Yen). A battle of love and hatred involving men and ghosts begins.
