NOTES

Sunshine Cleaning

This is the latest work created by the film crew of “Little Miss Sunshine”, which became a big hit and won two Academy Awards in the following year. This heart-warming story comically and tenderly describes the sisters that happen to be involved in a strange business “cleaning of the site where a corpse lies” and their family. The director of this film is Christine Jeffs, who also directed “Sylvia”, starring Gwyneth Paltrow and Daniel Craig. She closely describes the women in their twenties and thirties with the complex nature that makes them naive and courageous. Moreover the relationships between the sisters and their family or some acquaintances are humorously described in this film with a happy ending. Amy Adams, who starred in “Enchanted” and attracted a large audience, plays Rose while Emily Blunt, who perfectly performed the cynical co-worker in “The Devil Wears Prada”, plays Rose’s sister, Norah.
