Guardian Angel
In the midst of an unprecedented recession, director of the hit film, "Kisaragi" this time tries his hand at a hero movie! The story revolves around Keiichi, a "poorly-paid salaryman", and an "angel of a girl" who'd lived in totally different worlds, until Keiichi begins to harbor some "unfounded delusions". Keiichi, believing that the girl is being bullied on a secret and anonymous website message board, decides he must protect her, and tries somehow to get to know her so that he can warn her. His childhood friend, a "gangster who practically lives at a mahjong house" and a "good-looking hikikomori (one who is withdrawn from social life)" are concerned. They believe Keiichi's worries are groundless and tries to tell him that he is "totally misdirected and delusional". However one thing leads to another until finally, the girl is kidnapped by a bizarre murderer. The three men, all unfortunate victims of the gap-widening society, pull all their forces together, and with their wit and courage, bravely seek to crack a most difficult case that even the police could not solve...
